My name is Joachim, and like most pilots, my story didn’t begin in a cockpit — it began with a feeling.

A feeling that the sky was calling.

I grew up looking at airplanes the way most people look at mountains or oceans: as something bigger than life. Something that pulls you forward before you even understand why. Years later, after training at Pilot Flight Academy and earning my CPL, ME/IR, and frozen ATPL, I realized something important:

The world desperately needs new pilots — but beginners have almost nowhere to start.
No clear guidance.
No simple explanations.
No voice saying, “You belong here.”

That’s why I wrote Into the Sky – From Dreamer to Pilot.

Why I Wrote This Book

When I started my journey, everything felt overwhelming.

ATPL theory was a wall of information.
Flying seemed reserved for “other people.”
And the path to becoming a pilot felt mysterious, expensive, and confusing.

I wanted someone to take me by the hand and say:

“Here’s what it feels like. Here’s what matters. Here’s where to start.”

So I wrote the exact book I wish I had when I began.
